The architect for Reems Creek Golf Course, built in 1989, was Frederick William Hawtree of the acclaimed golf course architecture firm of Hawtree & Sons, located in Woodstock, England.

The firm is a company founded in 1912 by Hawtree's father, Frederick George.  The world renowned Hawtrees are about to begin construction on the Trump International Golf Links in Scotland. Hawtree & Sons is also known for its work over the years on remodeling at Royal Birkdale in Southport, England, a course that is part of the British Open rotation.

Frederick William joined his father in 1938 and went on to design many courses in France, Belgium, Spain in addition to the United Kingdom. Today, his son, Martin Hawtree, has turned the firm into one of the largest golf architectural practices in Europe.
